about me
I believe that true beauty is not defined by universal standards, but by embracing diversity, fostering self-confidence, and finding solutions as unique as the people I work with.
BEYOND A PROCEDURE
My philosophy of plastic surgery
I have been immersed in medicine from a young age, growing up in a family of doctors, yet my creativity has always been a defining part of who I am. This combination naturally drew me to plastic surgery, a field where science and artistry intersect. From the very beginning, I was captivated by how every procedure—whether reconstructive or aesthetic—is entirely unique and requires both precision and imaginative planning to achieve results that are natural, functional, and harmonious. I am inspired by the subtle artistry of hiding scars within natural skin folds and by the remarkable ability to restore even complex defects almost seamlessly using the body’s own resources.
My philosophy of plastic surgery is grounded in the belief that every patient is unique, and every procedure is more than a technical intervention—it is an opportunity to restore, enhance, and support well-being. To me, plastic surgery is a journey in which I accompany each patient as a partner: understanding individual needs, creating tailored solutions, and supporting both confidence and quality of life, while drawing on expertise, creativity, and empathy to achieve the best possible outcome.
MINDSET
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to gain diverse experiences abroad, each shaping my approach to plastic surgery. In particular, my repeated work in South Africa had a profound impact. Beyond mastering technique, my peers taught me that being fully present for patients begins with finding the right headspace for oneself—a mindset I have adopted as a lifestyle, to remain focused and attentive in every consultation and procedure. I also experienced the value of generosity, collaboration, and professional exchange, which strengthen not only individual practice but the entire team. This commitment continues to guide my work today, including giving international lectures on our research and teaching students at the Medical University of Graz.
STAMINA
Sport has always been an essential part of my life, and running has become a particular passion. Covering long distances, up to marathons, gives me space to think, process, and reconnect with myself. While running, I feel most alive and creative, and it helps me work through challenges both personally and professionally. Pushing my limits and learning not to give up has shown me that the mind is far more powerful than the body—a lesson that resonates deeply in my work.
Running also strengthens my mental resilience and focus. The discipline, endurance, and concentration required mirror the demands of surgery, where complex problems arise and prolonged focus is essential. By dedicating time intentionally to this practice, I return to my work centered, energized, and able to approach every procedure with clarity, precision, and confidence – qualities that are vital when every decision can impact a patient’s outcome.
